We are proud to the present the first Event Podcast from the King’s Maritime History Seminars, sponsored by the British Commission for Maritime History. Alan M. Anderson presented “The Royal Navy and the Laws of War: the 1899 and 1907 Peace Conferences” on February 6, 2014. His paper addresses the Royal Navy’s approach to these Peace Conferences and in particular the Admiralty’s desire to protect its traditional operational prerogatives and strategies and the conflict that generated with the Government, as well as the other parties at the conferences. Alan was introduced by Dr Alan James, convenor of the seminar series.
