The newly established Greenwich Maritime Centre (GMC) is pleased to announce its first international interdisciplinary conference on the theme ‘Society and the Sea’.
Established as a bi-annual event, the conference aims to bring together an interdisciplinary array of researchers, practitioners, policy and decision makers to explore the oceans as a cross-cutting issue for society and sustainable development. It will take place in the unique setting of the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich, home to the University of Greenwich.
The conference will address the themes below, although we also welcome papers that do not fit neatly into these categories. If you are interested in organising a session please contact us.
- Blue Economy
- Conservation and Environmental Change
- Human Health & Wellbeing
- Heritage and the Arts
- Governance and Security
Please complete the submission form by 30th June 2016 with your abstract and biography.
Conference registration will open on 11th July 2016, at which time a preliminary list of accepted papers will also be published. A discounted delegate fee for presenters will be applied.
In the meantime should you have any queries, or are interested in sponsoring the event, please contact usgmc@gre.ac.uk.
