Katrina Ponti is a PhD candidate in Early American history at the University of Rochester where she works with adviser Mike Jarvis. Born and raised in central Pennsylvania along the Susquehanna River, she has been fascinated with the Early American world ever since her parents unearthed arrowheads while gardening in the backyard. These days her focus (and dissertation) has turned to the transatlantic intelligence networks formed by the proto-foreign service in the American Early Republic. In addition to these endeavors, Katrina is also trained as a historical archaeologist, and accompanies the University of Rochester’s Smith’s Island Archaeology field school on Bermuda during the summer. She can be found on Twitter at @kmp5440.
