Hello Everybody,
now that we’ve paid (hopefully) the last of the fees for the year I can present a kind of financial statement.
Thank you again to our donors for their generosity, who have made it possible for this website to keep going, During our campaign earlier this year, lovely people donated $375.65 CAD.
Costs:
- Hosting: $219.29
- PHP Support: $13.57
- DNS: $51.10
- Storage $31.63 (Google Drive- for podcasts, archival photos shared here, etc)
- Total: $309.59
- Remaining: $67.06
So, the PHP support fees were because WordPress updated but the version of PHP used by the website was older than Dreamhost supports, and it took me a couple of months to clue in that I was being charged extra. However, the PHP has now been updated so there should be no more costs like this in the future. Given the remaining amount, I believe the best use is to hold it against next year’s costs.
We will be holding another fundraiser to support 2024’s costs, however instead of doing it in January or early in the year, we will do it in June, much closer to when the actual costs are being paid.
