Following a career in welfare rights advice and advocacy, Sue Jones has now turned to the high seas. After receiving an MA in Renaissance Studies with a dissertation on the Thames and watermen she is now studying for a PhD at Birkbeck, University of London. Her thesis is about pirates and the sea as a space of self-detemination in early modern English literature.
